“Flag Burning”

This is a prose poem. A strange exercise in absurdism, it gives the implication of story and character through a haze of gibberish.

“Green: a brief tale of childhood”

This is a simple, bittersweet tale of growing up, what it brings us, and what we leave behind.

A silly, almost comedy sketch-like vignette about what seems at first to be a robbery.

“Visitation Rites”

Written as an exercise for a creative writing course, this is a story about a man who revisits his old school and has a strange encounter with a student there.

“The Rubberband Man”

The tenuous nature of power is explored when a new student is called before the court of the reigning school bully.

“Quantum Theory and Tube Socks

A down and out television producer goes on a metaphysical voyage of iffy science, bad television, and salvation of self.

“A Sliding Time”

A dark tale of a son who sees his father slipping into madness.

“Rudy With One Hand”

He’s raunchy, rude, and offensive to everyone.  He’s also your best friend in the world.

“Onion Street”

At a little Texas Cafe, lovers Rhonda & James encounter Love’s greatest enemy: TIME.

“Why Do Cats Have Tails?”

Written as a children’s story contest entry, this is the story of Chaucer the Cat, who thinks his tail is a terrible nuisance, and goes on a quest to find out why cats are burdened with them.

“MISSING TIME” (“313” Volume 1 of 3)

A science fiction / super-hero genre novella. Eight students. A lonely bridge on a dark night. When their school bus careens off the bridge and crashes into the river, they are lucky just to survive. But soon, they discover they possess strange powers, like the power to read minds, to fly, or to resurrect the dead. And that’s just the beginning. None of them knows exactly what happened, and each remembers something different. Now, they are being hunted down one by one, and to survive they must piece together their memories and solve the mystery of the missing time.
